Mission Statement
The DBS Programmer Database was created and managed by Sierra Farris since 2007 to help patients
and families find professionals that provide DBS programming services in their local community.  The
Database is simple to use and offers a free listing service for DBS programmers which includes
programming experience, educational background and clinic scheduling information.  Newsworthy
updates and links are also listed for both patients and professional programmers.

The usefulness of the Database depends on the registration of programmers available to patients.
Outreach starts at home; encourage your programmers to register and to keep their information up to
date.

"During my time at the Cleveland Clinic, finding community programmers was a significant
challenge for patients receiving DBS surgery in a city that was miles from their hometowns.
Connecting patients with local programmers is crucial for long term care and safety of the
person living with an implanted brain device such as DBS."
